TOTAL TIME: 20 Minutes

DIFFICULTY: Easy

Plump shrimp, melted butter, and Gulf Coast Garlic come together in this quick coastal favorite. Bold garlic and savory herbs meet a bright citrus finish for an easy dish that's right at home over rice, pasta, or alongside a piece of crusty bread.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb large Gulf shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 Tbsp Gulf Coast Garlic
  • 4 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

DIRECTIONS

  1. Prep the shrimp. Pat the shrimp thoroughly dry with paper towels. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  2. Sear the shrimp. Add the shrimp in a single layer, being careful not to overcrowd the skillet. Cook for 1–2 minutes per side, until pink and nearly cooked through.
  3. Lower the heat. Reduce the heat to medium before adding the butter and seasoning. This helps prevent the butter and spices from scorching.
  4. Finish with Gulf Coast Garlic. Add the butter and 2 Tbsp Gulf Coast Garlic to the skillet. Toss the shrimp in the seasoned butter for about 1 minute, until fully cooked and evenly coated.
  5. Serve. Spoon the Gulf Coast Garlic butter from the skillet over the shrimp. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.

SHORE TIP

For the best sear, make sure your shrimp are thoroughly dry and your skillet is hot before they go in. Give them a little room, too—crowding the pan traps steam and makes it harder to get that lightly seared exterior.

PAIR WITH

Rice Pilaf · Roasted Potatoes · Crusty Bread · Grilled Vegetables

The seasoned garlic butter is especially good spooned over rice or potatoes—or soaked up with a piece of warm crusty bread.

MAKE IT YOUR OWN

Make it pasta. Toss the shrimp and garlic butter with linguine or angel hair, adding a splash of pasta water to bring everything together.

Serve it over grits. Spoon the shrimp and seasoned butter over creamy grits for an easy coastal dinner.

Add some greens. Toss fresh spinach into the skillet during the final minute and let it wilt into the garlic butter.

Try another catch. The same preparation works well with scallops or chunks of firm white fish; just adjust the cooking time as needed.
